FALL IS HERE...don't you love it! I LOVE enjoying the crisp fall air & a warm cup of chai tea. As I sit on the patio and look around, I see all the little hints of fall. The scenery around me is starting to change...leaves changing color, pumpkins for sale and warm clothes coming out of storage. Speaking of storage... |
For those of you who know me, know I LOVE TO ORGANIZE. HOWEVER, life gets in a rush & sometimes you just throw things quickly in a drawer or bin to get them out of sight. Or like me , you've recently moved & things are not as easy to find when you need them. I had one of those moments the other day where the clutter HAD TO GO...and this is the bin that "inspired" me - UGH!
This bin could stress anyone out!
After racking my brain a bit, I was tossing around some ideas for how to organize the ribbons like using dowel rods in a picture frame or a towel rack. I didn't want a big project just wanted to re-purpose an everyday item! I also needed something that was inexpensive. ***Trying to be MORE FRUGAL these days.***
My dad suggested some antique curtain rods in the attic that were my great grandfather's - PERFECT - even better that they had some PERKEY history behind them.
I selected 2 rods similar in tone, but they were different in lengths. So, we cut the one to make them both the same length. Once completed, my "carpenter" a.k.a. dad stepped in to help (Just so you know I could have hung them up myself, but he stepped in to lend a hand.) Thanks, Dad! LOVE them!
I want it to be visually appealing so I may rearrange a bit - currently I have them by color. There is no right or wrong way, but I may try to redo placing the same sized ones together.
I found a cute little white handled bin.
I LOVE the white cottage style.
This little item was just perfect & it was 60% off!!!
In addition, I bought a few mason jars 2 small & 1 large. The small ones were $0.99 each. The larger mason jar wasn't on sale so I used my 50% off coupon. (NOT A HUGE SAVINGS 1/2 of $2.49, but hey, every little bit counts!) I love it!
When you can, I say look around your home and use the items you see - just re-purpose them! In this case, that was basically the case, but I found a few fun items for just over $10. A cozy cute craft corner for just over $10? I'll take it. Here are the FINAL results. ENJOY!
