To keep things FRESH & NEW, I love to rearrange my rooms. It doesn't have to cost anything & it keeps me motivated & inspired. So, my attic bedroom (for various reasons) has had a "change" not once, not twice, but maybe closer to six times I've "tweaked" the layout. Ok, ok, ok..."tweaked" may be a slight understatement on my part, but I have to keep things lively, right? |
So, since I've lived in my cozy little attic the last 7 months, my little room has experienced a variety of changes:
It's been...
I LOVE IT!
It just goes to show how 1 room can be so versatile.
That's one way to view it, right? :)

It's been...
- dismantled
- decluttered
- rearranged
- painted
- redesigned
- & painted again!

Want to take a quick peek & see the 6 STYLES?...
1. This was when I FIRST moved in.
2. This style was comfy, cozy & I enjoyed it!
3. This was a "TRIAL & ERROR" - emphasis on error, but we all live & learn. This wall lasted 1 day & it was BACK to the drawing board.
4. SUMMERTIME in the attic can be quite toasty (hence the unsightly AC window unit, but it was heavenly when it was on)
5. Not too much change - I had added the "CRAFT CORNER" & loved my little cozy nook to read or study in my comfy chair.
6. My current style. I am starting a business & need some workspace - so this design was built out of necessity. I love it. It's clean, roomy & clutter free!)
So, there you have it!
I know, I know...lots of change in a short amount of time.
I love to create as you know by now and usually a project requires some "shifting" in my room.
If nothing else, it gives me a fresh perspective on things!
As we live in space, as we see what we need and what we don't feel is necessary anymore, it changes.
So, if you find yourself stuck in a rut, take a couple hours or an afternoon...

- Bring in items you love and are purposeful.
- Move your seating to the other side of the room - will give you a new perspective with a fresh angle.
- Add a rug or a fresh plant.
- Find a few bins to collect & conceal any clutter. (toys, paperwork, etc.)
So, if you find yourself stuck in a rut, take a couple hours or an afternoon...
- MOVE things around.
- Re-purpose items.
- Go "shopping" in other rooms or closets in your home and use those items in your room.
- Purge unnecessary clutter and you may just LOVE the outcome.
